A lively, up to date retelling of an old favourite with lift the flap excitement (what really WAS in the basket for Granny?) on each page to encourage independent, interactive reading.
All set in a simple rhyme, which encourages early phonics awareness and repetition. Lovely, clear, colourful illustrations make this book eye-catching and easy to talk about with your child.
If you like this one, ask at your library for the others in the series.

Join us in libraries for fairy tale rhymetimes and parties as we celebrate National Bookstart Week.
Once upon a time, in Plymouth, there was a very busy week……
On Saturday 22 June at St Aubyn Library there will be a themed Rhymetime in the children’s area, which is having a fairy tale makeover courtesy of the local HeadSpace group and library staff.
On Tuesday, a Bookstart Fairy Tale party, is happening at Crownhill Library, on Wednesday, a Baby Clinic and Fairy Tales Rhymetime will take place at Plympton Library and on Thursday at North Prospect Library, there will be a musical Fairy Tale themed Rhymetime/Storytime.
Even more events will take place at other libraries across the city, usually at the regular Rhymetime or Storytime times. All the dates and times are on our website.
