Book review – Dogs don’t do ballet by Anna Kemp and Sarah Oglivie

Watch out who’s following you to ballet lessons – your pet pooch might just turn out to be harbouring ambitions to be the next Baryshnikov!

This picture book has many laugh out loud moments whilst Ogilvie’s illustrations have a retro charm reminiscent of Harry the Dirty Dog and the wonderful Posy Simmonds.

The somewhat predictable story manages to stay safely out of Giraffe’s Don’t Dance territory. Our favourite so far in this year’s Booktrust Early Year’s Book award. BB would find it easy to love any dog that preferred plies to peeing on lampposts 🙂
