Book review – Pretty Pru by Polly Dunbar

pru

BB favourite Polly Dunbar has brought out her first series called Tilly and Friends. Each book focuses on a different character from a little’s girls circle of animal playmates and displays all the usual gentle charm that makes this talented author’s illustrations so endearing.

The Children’s team have been specially looking forward to Pretty Pru since we had a sneak preview of this at a library conference and it has just arrived at the library this week . We’ve heard of a pig in lipstick before but nothing is so funny as the sight of a very naughty pig in mascara!

Other books in the series are;  Where’s Tumpty? Hello Tilly and Happy Hector, with 2 more titles to come in the autumn. Apparently the characters are based on Polly’s housemates in Brighton so that must be a fun household! The rights have already been snapped up for the telly box so be amongst the original fans before everyone else catches on…
