Book review – Spells by Emily Gravett

spellsSpells is the latest magical outing from the prolific Emily Gravett and features a frog desperate to become a handsome prince. It uses that old fashioned (but effective) split page techniques to build up spooky combinations of different animal parts, i.e “String Thing, Forked Tongue, Carrotozabbit stir three times and out comes SN – ABBIT”. The whole thing looks like a wonderful old spell book to boot!

One line review – “Kiss lots of frogs before you find a princess!”

P.S. Emily Gravett has a very good website too. Check out the lovely trailer for “Monkey and me”.
