Book Review – Molly and the Night Monster by Chris Wormell

Many tiny ones will suffer night terrors at some stage at bedtimes and now there’s a lovely new title from Chris Wormell (Two Frogs, George and the Dragon) that could help overcome this common childhood fear.

Wormell employs a restricted palette of twilight blue monochromes to illustrate the shadows and animal shapes lurking in on the landing outside Molly’s bedroom and an effective use of the split page design always keeps the little girl on the right side of the wall from the monsters.

A comforting finale gives a reassuring message about things that go bump in the night.
