Our online poll winner was The cow that laid an egg by Andy Cutbill and Russell Ayto with 67% of the vote.
I was very lucky to be invited to BAFTA, Piccadilly on Tuesday for the official ceremony. I saw lots of my Booktrust friends and met some of the incredibly talented shortlisted authors and illustrators including Garry Parsons, Gwen Milward and Andy Cutbill (pictured).
It turns out Andy lives in Devon too so it was a real pleasure to be able to tell him that he had won the people’s choice award on my blog. Andy was pipped to the post for the real award by the wonderful Bog Baby – what can I say – if you’re small and blue you’ll go far!

P.S. Big hello to Jude age nearly 3 and his Mum who were my travelling and book sharing companions as far as Totnes on the train back to Plymouth. Jude really enjoyed Bog Baby – especially looking at the blue bells and all the little bog babies at the end.
